In The News: Truly Nolen of Marco Island
Truly Nolen 'gives back' during Good Citizens Week
They joked, teased and laughed as the balmy weekday morning morphed into a blistering afternoon - all while laboring at something other than their day jobs.
The workers from Truly Nolen Pest Control's Marco Island office were having fun while revitalizing the dugouts at the Tommie Barfield Elementary School baseball field recently.
Pressure washing, tidying up the grounds and the painting all took place to commemorate Truly Nolen of America's annual observation of Good Citizen's Week.
Truly Nolen expanded its regular community and philanthropic activities in 2012 to include a campaign at company locations in eight states known as Good Citizens Week. The program sees employees step out into their communities for a week-long campaign filled with random acts of kindness, everything from beach cleanups to food bank deliveries.
The facelift to the TBE ballfields was greatly appreciated by Marco Island's Department of Parks and Recreation.
"It was something that needed to be done and they took care of it," said Alex Galiana, administrative and facilities manager for the parks and recreation department. "As I've said many times, when there is a community project that is needed, this is a great community where someone or some community organization steps up. I greatly appreciate it because when we have as small a staff as we do, it helps us get a job done that might not have been done for several months."
