Flies are often found around dead and decomposing materials, flying around the materials, eating and laying eggs in it. Flies are normally seen outside, around gardens or landscaping that could be decomposing and most commonly seen around garbage cans and dumpsters. Flies can also make their way inside your home through open doors and windows, and can become a pest by lingering around for a few days. There are more than 120,000 different types of fly species that can be found all over the world doing the same thing, decomposing dead materials. Typically an adult fly has a short life span left, ranging from a few days to a few weeks, laying up to hundreds of eggs in those short days they are alive. Flies have been known to transmit diseases of all sorts, being one of the leading insects in disease transportation.
