Spiders are often the sign of a more serious insect infestation. These eight legged creatures are generally carnivorous hunters, feeding on insects such as ants and crickets. Spiders hide in cracks and crevices in well-protected areas inside or outside of the home like eaves, vaulted ceiling corners, bookcase voids, and storage areas or under play equipment etc. Spiders vary greatly in size, shape and color. The Spider's typical life span is one year, although species such as the Tarantula can live as long as twenty years. The number of offspring these pests produce depends on the species. On average they produce 4-300 eggs per sac and can carry up to nine sacs a season (breeding cycle.) Spiders are generally carnivorous hunters feeding on insects such as ants and crickets. They hide out in cracks and crevices in well-protected undisturbed areas inside or outside of the home like eaves, vaulted ceiling corners, bookcase voids, under patio furniture or play equipment etc. Not all spiders spin webs to catch food, some actively hunt for their prey.
