Nolen Family

Truly Wheatfield Nolen started his pest control business in Miami Beach Florida in 1938, during the Great Depression. The business had roots in sanitation, which evolved into rodent and pest control. And everyone in the family, including Truly David Nolen, played his or her part to help the company service customers and be successful.

Truly David Nolen pursued his vision for better pest control that customers would be proud to have. After earning his Entomology degree, he moved to Arizona in 1955 starting his own “Truly Nolen” pest and termite control company. He grew the company across southern California and the southwest states. In 1966, he created “Truly Nolen of America, Inc.” by combining his and his father’s company together.

Truly David Nolen built the company on the foundation of the Golden Rule. His reputation for taking excellent and ethical care of his customers, employees and business partners was legendary. He coupled his care for people with innovation – both in the way his company provided quality pest, termite and rodent control as well as how he advertised. His fleet of “antique cars” found around town, along with the bold yellow “mouse cars” became regular features in local, national and international media.

The Working Nolen Family

Truly’s love for his company inspired his children and grandchildren – the third and fourth generations of the Nolen family – to pursue careers in the company and industry.

Scarlett Nolen is Truly Nolen of America’s President. Scarlett’s resume includes successful leadership roles as a branch manager in Florida, and then the District Manager for the nationwide Growth district. She led the company in Net Gain for three consecutive years.

Scarlett launched the Truly Development Program (TDP), allowing her to focus on the systematic and engaging development of employees across the company. She joined the Executive Team and was elected to the company’s Board of Directors.

Scarlett graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology and then earned her Master’s degree from the University of Central Florida.

Michelle Nolen is the Director of Operational Administrative Support & Special Projects. She serves as an architect for administrative functions across the company to deliver yellow standard customer service.

Michelle was the Director of Marketing & Public Relations helping the company earn over $100 million while connecting to the company’s local communities. She started in Information Technology replacing the company’s customer management software, paving the way for handheld devices in the field and customers having access to their accounts online.

Michelle graduated with Honors from Smith College with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Arizona.

Really Nolen runs Truly Nolen’s Research & Development department. Prior to joining the company, he owned and ran his own original equipment manufacturing company “Really Innovations” out of Florida. He is able to extend the novel and custom work he did from his own private company, along with his unique insights into the pest control industry, for the benefit of Truly Nolen’s customers.

Really was critical in the design and production of some of the company’s service truck design and proprietary equipment. Really literally designs the proverbial “better mouse trap;” he recently developed a “one-way” mouse trap so rodents would not be sealed into a home.

Really graduated from the University of Florida, earning a degree in Engineering.

Truly William “Bill” Nolen is Truly D. Nolen’s eldest son and the family Renaissance man. Bill is a licensed pest operator in multiple states and resident expert in state regulations. Bill dedicated himself to whatever area of the business needed help – including payroll management, advertising and North American franchising.

The biggest impact Bill has on the company and customer experience is the great migration from paper to electronic tablet brochures. He knew showing a customer actual videos of termites and providing educational resources to customers helped them make the most informed decision about their home’s immediate and long-term care needs.
