Yes, there really was a man named Truly! Truly Nolen was founded by Truly Wheatfield Nolen in Miami, Florida in 1938. His son, Truly David Nolen, joined forces with him after graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Entomology. Together, they expanded and improved the pest control business.
Truly David saw his customers as family. In doing so, he got pest control right. It was his vision for you to be protected by proactive pest control that you’re proud of and see it as a sign of good housekeeping, done in an environmentally responsible way, and made affordable by serving you and your neighbors. It’s a philosophy and passion that continues to drive President Scarlett Nolen today.

I have been a lawn care and pest control industry entrepreneur since my early teenage years and graduated from Yale University (BS Electrical Engineering) in 1987. I founded Verde Lawn & Shrub Care as a teenager in the metropolitan Philadelphia area, ultimately selling the operation in 1998 to ServiceMaster, parent company of TruGreen. In 2000, I joined Weed Man as a Sub-Franchisor to launch and develop the brand in the United States. In 2011, I joined Truly Nolen Pest Control as a Master Franchisor to develop and support franchisees in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I continue to develop and support Weed Man and Truly Nolen franchise operations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, while also operating franchise locations in Pennsylvania and Jacksonville, FL.
I am deeply grateful for the sense of purpose and fulfillment with which I have been rewarded over many years as I have had the opportunity to guide and be a part of the successful careers of entrepreneurs, managers and frontline employees. I travel extensively for work but live in Naples, FL where my wife of 25 years and I raised our three kids. I enjoy spending time with family, cycling and participating in any sport that combines wind and/or water.
I have been part of the Truly Nolen family since 2015 and have been in the industry for over 15 years now. I have never worked for a company that values their employees and customers as much as Truly Nolen does. The thing I enjoy most about my job is being able to truly help people when they need it. I love the community I work and live in, and there is nothing better than helping the people in my community with all their pest issues. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending anytime I get with my three daughters and my girlfriend. Doing anything that involves being outside is what I enjoy most.
I have been in the pest control and wildlife industry for several years and take pride in helping protect homes, businesses, and families throughout our community. My passion is building strong relationships with customers and making sure every client feels taken care of from the first call to the completion of service. I enjoy leading a team that focuses on professionalism, honesty, and delivering real solutions for pest, termite, rodent, and wildlife issues.
What I enjoy most about this industry is being able to help people during stressful situations and providing peace of mind through quality service. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors, and staying involved in the community I serve.
