Male carpenter bees are unable to sting but are known to hover near their nests and dart after perceived threats. Females are able to sting but generally must be provoked to do so. In general, carpenter bees are more annoying than dangerous, with property risks far outweighing potential health concerns for most people.
Bee adventurers go the extra mile for the survival of their colonies. In bee hives, only certain bees leave hives to hunt for new food sources and to find new accommodations once populations outgrow their current hives.
