Do Mud Daubers Sting?

As mud daubers have been documented as remaining calm, preferring to move on and build a new nest, rather than attack their intruders, even when their nests are destroyed, they rarely sting humans or animals, except spiders. Using their stingers primarily to capture and paralyze prey that they feed to their developing young, very few documented cases of mud dauber attacks on humans exist.

With mud daubers, as with all flying, venomous insects, there’s always the possibility of these insects stinging humans or animals. Mud dauber stings, however unlikely, can cause swelling and redness.
