In most cases, earwigs are not destructive, but that doesn't mean homeowners want to live with them. Earwigs are not known to bite or sting humans. They also don't contain any amount of poison. In large groups, earwigs might damage marigolds, roses, strawberries and other plants. It's also possible for earwigs to pinch a person's skin with their pincers, but unless they feel threatened, earwigs are not known to pinch humans.
